Stay safe. Trade confidently.
A short guide to the rules that keep LocalSaathi's marketplace clean — for customers and businesses alike.
For Customers
Before you pay
Always check the green Verified badge before paying any advance.
Prefer paying after the work is done whenever possible.
Use the in-platform chat or WhatsApp button — never share OTPs over call.
Leave a review so other customers benefit from your experience.
Always ask for a GST invoice for payments above ₹499.
For Businesses
How to win
Respond to enquiries within 15 minutes — reply speed is the single biggest conversion lever.
Keep your profile updated with current pricing, hours, and photos.
Never ask customers to contact you off-platform early in the relationship.
Submit GST + Aadhaar for verification — verified listings get 2.3× more enquiries.
Honest listings win. Misrepresenting services leads to review penalties and delistings.
Red flags to watch for
If you see any of these, stop and report.
Someone asking for a large advance without a confirmed booking
A vendor refusing to provide a GST invoice for paid services
Contact from a different phone number than the one on the listing
Requests to pay via cryptocurrency or unknown wallets
Pressure to decide immediately or "limited-time" offers not on the platform
Requests for your bank OTP, UPI PIN, or full card details
How we protect your data
Security isn't a feature — it's the foundation. Four commitments we live by.
256-bit SSL everywhere
Every request to every endpoint is encrypted in transit. No exceptions — not even the homepage.
Phone numbers masked by default
Your phone is only revealed to a business after you explicitly share it. No scraper can harvest contacts.
Aadhaar stored as hash only
We verify via UIDAI OTP then discard the raw number. Only a one-way hash is kept for lookup.
Payments via RBI-compliant gateways
Card, UPI, net-banking and wallet transactions route through PCI-DSS Level 1 certified partners.
